AcademicPub Adds Key Hires

Greg Morris Named VP, Marketing, SharedBook Inc.; Forrest Harrington and Paul Palumbo Join as New Sales Executives for AcademicPub™ Arthur Cundy to Lead Front-End Web Team

New York, NY, August 14, 2012 - SharedBook Inc., parent company of AcademicPub, today announced the appointment of four key hires to bolster its already strong embrace by the higher education community.

The announcement was made by Caroline Vanderlip, CEO, SharedBook Inc.

Greg Morris joins the company as Vice President, Marketing, SharedBook Inc., where he will oversee the company's outreach to audiences for each of its brands. Mr. Morris will concentrate in particular on AcademicPub, which since its April 2011 launch has quickly established itself as a leading provider of custom books - print and digital - for the dynamically changing higher education market.

A veteran marketer in the internet, retail and telecommunications industries, Mr. Morris most recently was head of marketing for several early-stage consumer brands with LexisNexis. From 2000 through 2004, Mr. Morris was a vice president of marketing at Federated Department Stores, now called The Macy's Group. A marketing database and testing analysis expert, Mr. Morris spearheaded an overall consolidation of the company's various databases into one Macy's Database for retail and credit operations.

Mr. Morris, who began his career at AT&T in customer acquisition marketing, is especially attuned to the needs of higher education faculty members as he is an adjunct faculty member himself in the business school at Rutgers University. He was previously awarded an MBA at Rutgers, after graduating with a BS in Business Administration from Boston University.

Forrest Harrington and Paul Palumbo join the company as regional sales executives for AcademicPub, which is expanding rapidly due to its widespread adoption by individual faculty members across the U.S. and Canada, and, in some cases, by entire institutions through its offering called CustomCollegePLUS™. Messrs. Harrington and Palumbo both bring long backgrounds in higher education sales to their new roles at AcademicPub.

Mr. Harrington, who will be based in the Atlanta area, joins AcademicPub as Sales Director, Southeast. Most recently, Mr. Harrington served as Southern U.S. Territory Manager for MBS Textbook Exchange, where he was also active in industry trade associations, such as the Georgia Association of College Stores, where he was a board member and past president.

Previously, Mr. Harrington was Southeast Account Executive for XanEdu Publishing and Regional Sales Manager for Follett Custom Publishing, both high-profile players in the higher education market. He received his BA in Communications from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Mr. Palumbo, who will be based in northern New Jersey, joins AcademicPub as Sales Director, Northeast. A professional with 30+ years of experience in the academic, library and corporate information market, Mr. Palumbo spent the past 8 years at RR Bowker, where he rose from Account Manager to Senior Director of Sales for the U.S. Academic and Library Sales Division.

Previously, Mr. Palumbo served for nearly 25 years in progressively responsible roles at highly respected Dun & Bradstreet Corp., where for a decade he handled the business relationships with more than 40 large public and private companies. He received his BA in Business Administration from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ.

The fourth new hire on the SharedBook Inc. team is Arthur Cundy, who will serve as Front-End Specialist for the company's various web platforms, with an emphasis on supporting the growing higher ed faculty use of AcademicPub. Mr. Cundy was most recently with 3eleven Creative in Brooklyn, where he created websites for multiple clients, working with a staff of technical and creative professionals.

Concurrent with his role at 3eleven Creative, Mr. Cundy was a website producer for Teach for America. Prior to that, Mr. Cundy served as webmaster or lead designer for scores of websites based in the greater New York City area, including those that are part of Analysts in Media. One of Mr. Cundy's earliest web production roles was at his alma mater, Hofstra University.
